Round 15 Support Thread!

Hello, fellow Hikago fans! As you've probably seen, sign ups for round 15 of blind_go have arrived, and you guys know what that means: lots and lots of flailing, starting now! For anyone new to our challenge here, this is the place we come to chat, flail, cry, procrastinate, plot, ask and answer questions, and support each other. ❤


Anonymouse is encouraged, especially if there could be clues to your fic, but obviously isn't required, and comments will be screened during the guessing period just in case. Participants also often use their blind_go  ID's once they get them, which adds a fun twist to things and you're certainly welcome to do that as well. ^_~ Either way, comments will be screened during the guessing period just in case (er, assuming I remember to do it later XD).

Writers: Complaints about lack of progress, procrastinating, requests for ideas, and more are all awesome.

Readers: You guys are more than welcome to participate too! Leave your reassurances, fanfic ideas, distractions, and helpful random spam here.

(I know what you mean, but just remember that there's no pressure. If you don't submit, it's not a big deal, so don't freak yourself out over it. Finishing the semester comes first. ^_^)

I thought I knew exactly what I wanted to write.

I was entirely wrong.

Now I'm writing this thing that is two ideas mashed together and involves research and I'm not sure I like it, but at least I know I can get 5k out of it.

Sometimes you just have to write these things out, ride the wave, to see whether you like how it ends up. I know I've certainly written things before that I've been all /o\ while writing and then ended up being pleased with them. Hopefully that's what will happen! (And if nothing else, at least you'll hit minimum word count? ^_^;;; ) Good luck, anonymouse!

I've a feeling I'm going to miss this round pretty completely. I haven't even started yet, I don't have any ideas, and, more to the point, I don't even feel like writing (haven't written anything for a couple of months, not even my WIP's.) And I've decided to try to become a student again, and I've an entrance exam coming on May 25th, so... I hope I'll at least have time to read some of the fics. :/

Eeep, good luck with your exam! (I have finals coming up and still have two papers to write, so I totally feel you) Obviously real life comes before fandom, so don't feel badly about it. These things happen. ^_^ And even if you don't get to fics before guessing deadline or whatever, they'll still be there when you have the time, so there's that.

Because I'm curious, if you don't mind answering (if you do, don't worry about it)- what are you planning on going back to school for? Major/degree, I mean. Like I said, just curious.

I'm finally giving in to my long time interest in Japan and Japanese, and trying to get into Asian Studies. We'll see. ^^ And for now, if I get in, I'll be aiming for the bachelor's degree... as I've (barely) enough student aid left for that. Maybe. Life might become financially interesting if I do start studying.

(Then again, I shouldn't complain. Bless the Finnish system - no tuition fees, and they actually pay you (a little) for studying.)
